A six-seater commissioned for a double-volume dining room. We matched two book-matched marula slabs around a smoke-black resin river, then finished in hardwax oil so the grain stays open to the touch.
We talk through your space, your taste and your budget — in person or over a call.
Sketches and slab selection, with a transparent quote and a 50% deposit to begin.
Your piece is made by hand in the workshop, with photo updates as it progresses.
We deliver, place and level the piece, and leave you with care instructions.
A few words from people who now eat, work and gather around our work.
“It’s the first thing every guest comments on. Ten years from now it’ll still be the best thing in the room.”
Lerato M. · Bryanston · River dining table
“They understood the brief instantly and the updates through the build made it feel like a collaboration.”
Daniel & Kate · Parkhurst · Kitchen island
“Our bar top is the reason people photograph the restaurant. Worth every cent.”

Timber Tops is a one-bench workshop in Johannesburg. Every piece that leaves here is drawn, cut, poured and finished by the same pair of hands — no outsourcing, no flat-pack.
I started making furniture because I wanted things that would outlive their owners. A table should be the thing your grandchildren argue over one day.
